xAI is Elon Musk’s artificial-intelligence company, the maker of Grok, and in 2025 it absorbed X (formerly Twitter). It is private— no ticker, no exchange listing — so ordinary investors can’t buy it. That makes a disclosed Congressional stake worth a look. How do you even buy a private company?

Generally, you don’t, at least not directly.
